This open textbook is designed to introduce readers to the basics of professional communications in technical fields: audience and task analysis in workplace contexts, clear and concise communications style, effective document design, teamwork and collaboration, and fundamental research skills. This book will be removed from the B.C. Open Collection on June 1, 2023, as it has been replaced by a new edition. I recommend this book because it covers the majority of topics included in first-year engineering writing courses. The only place of weakness is the lack of some elements of style, but those topics can be easily added by instructors if necessary.„
